A Moment of Silence

For a few minutes this afternoon, I was overcome by emotion when I thought of all the people who voiced their opinions and did everything in their power in service of others. I cried on the loss of them, their memories, and that in their fight for health care, equal rights, dignity, and decency. They did not live to see this day, the day that the individual private citizen mattered the most, rich or poor, educated or not.

I was reminded of their resolve and commitment. Where did that stem from? All I could think, of when I digged deeper…
